Dresses
Onto the subject of this blog - DRESSES! I LOVE them. I would wear one every single day if I could. I watched both Hairspray and Grease lately and what fun times to grow up with those full flowing skirts. Man, that would have been the best. During class today (I fully admit I do not pay attention at all) I went through Vogue, McCalls, Butterick, and Simplicity patterns and was surprised to find so many that are so flattering and fun. I want to sew so many of them. And the nice thing is, you can add a few inches to the length to guarantee it's long enough. Boy, I sure want to learn to sew! Here's a few (or a lot) of my favorites!

Word Dump
POLITICS: I've never been a person to follow politics. I remember back when Bush was elected thinking to myself, "Hey, this would be a good time to start figuring out what's going on in this country. We just had a huge election... a war is starting... I'm going to be educated." Yeah, that worked out really well. It's now what, ten years later, and I'm just as clueless as I was then. I hear bits and pieces but really, I don't know where to start. I'm so behind with it all that none of it makes sense because the only articles I ever read are so detailed about one aspect of the picture. So I've given up trying to learn about it and especially trying to form my own opinion. Maybe one day...

REAL LIFE: I guess that picture leads into the next thing on my mind... when did I get so old? I graduate in 46 days and get married in 82 days. Where did the past five years of my life go? It's hard to believe that all my time spent in Omaha is about to end. It still doesn't seem right that it's time for me to deal with "big kid" stuff. Even though I've been on my own for the past five years, I realize I've lived a very padded life and reality is about to smack me in the face. BRING IT ON!

CHANGE OF PACE: Ryan and I's two, hopefully three, options for schools are all in completely different areas of the country; I love how diverse the U.S. is! But from laid back west coast, to fast-paced NY and finally the slower way of life down in North Carolina we have some exciting times ahead of us. Ryan is currently in North Carolina having the time of his life. He hasn't been this giddy and happy in awhile, nothing can get him down! (Even ruining his three white shirts by packing them in his bag with his freshly polished shoes). Don't worry, he bought two new ones and is currently starting the interview process as we speak.
SUMMER: I think this is on all of our minds with this long, dreadful winter we've had. I scraped my car AGAIN this morning and just wondered when it will all go away. I know it'll be here before we know it but oh how I long for warmer weather and no school. It's like being a kid again. This will be my first summer in awhile where I may actually get to relax for a bit and enjoy summer! If we can get an apartment with a pool, that'd be FANTASTIC.

PASSION: Question... how many people do you know are actually passionate about what they do, or what they are in school to do? I guess it never occurred to me that you really should LOVE what you do. I don't love engineering, I don't think many people do. I think it's overall a difficult thing to have passion for. I just hope I'll enjoy my job and maybe even like it... a little bit. :) I've realized I'm just not a passionate person. Some people get totally obsessed and sucked into everything they do and that's never been me, at all.
MARRIAGE: I'm sorry, I had to throw it out there. It's ALWAYS on my mind. I don't think you realize how pathetic I am. I really am constantly looking at other people's wedding pictures. Good ol' facebook personalizes its ads off to the side and so all of mine are for wedding photographers and I just love looking at them. Plus, I have friends getting engaged and hitched all over the place. Even if I weren't tying the knot myself, I'm surrounded by it at this stage in my life. I love it. :)
I think that's enough for today. PEACE AND BLESSINS. (See the video below. Seriously, I laughed so hard)
